About Me
Bulent Ozbek was born on June 7, 1959 in Istanbul. He started his International Relations education in Faculty of Management, Marmara University, in 1978.
He started studying and practicing Ney with Fuat Turkelman from Istanbul Radio. After the basic education, he took style and expression classes from Niyazi Sayin who is accepted as the best Ney Player ever. Then, with the permission of his teachers,first, he started to work with Chorus conducted by the famous singer Inci Cayirli in Istanbul Technical University.
Afterwards, he had the chance to work with the masters Bekir Sitki Sezgin, Alaaddin Yavasca, Cinucen Tanrikorur and Ahmet Ozhan and got a lot of experiences from them.
He also attended Mevlevi Sema Ceremonies with Postnisin Ahmet Bican Dede and with his Ney teachers. He continued Mevlevi music performances with Postnisin Selman Dede. In 1990, while he continued TRT Istanbul Radio Sufi Music chorus conducted by Head Neyzen Dogan Ergin, he also got important knowledge about sufi music from Sefer Dal in Sufi Music and Folklore Research Foundation.Because of his extreme love of music, he left his work in private sector and after taking an exam, started Historical Turkish Music Group of Turkish Cultural Ministry. He visited and performed with Ahmet Ozhan, almost all cities in Turkey and EU countries, USA, Mexico, Turkish Republics, Palestine, Iran, Jordan, India, Japan, Canada, Egypt.He performed several concert with group called “Breath of Mizrap †founded in 2003, and he still continues his performances with that group.Created with mySpace Profile Editor
