Since fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, have lived on this big ball, the earth, that goes spinning around the sun, they have found that they have two worlds to enjoy. One is real, the other is make-believe; one has been given us ready-made, though in such shape that we can change it in some respects, the other we have made for ourselves, and we are continually adding to itThe real world of earth and water is stubborn, and resists our efforts. It requires us to use axes and crowbars, if we wish to take it apart, and nails,cords, and glue must be used to put it together again in new shapes. The other world- the world of make-believe-is created by magic. the magic of imagination. If you know the magic words, the poor goose-girl becomes a princess, or the despised youngest son wins a throne.
