My Name is Alberto Contador. Yes, I am the real Alberto Contador. I am 25 years old and am currently riding for the Astana Pro Cycling Team after Discovery failed to gain sponsorship for the following season. I was born on December 6, 1982 in Madrid, Spain. As a child I lived im Madrid where my parents emigrated to in 1978. I've always had a love for animals. I'm the son of Francisco and Francisca. I was the third of four brothers (Francisco Javier, Alicia, Alberto and Raúl). I became interested in cycling through my older brother. In 2004 while I was riding in the first stage of the Vuelta a Asturias, i suffered from a hard fall. I was diagnosed with cerebral cavernoma. After 2004, I returned to cycling in 2005 where i won my first race, "Tour Down Under" in Australia. After three season with Liberty Seguros, I signed with the Discovery Channel Team. With Discovery, I have had great success with a win in the Paris-Nice and The greatest of all races le Tour de France.
