Worship. If one word could describe Jared’s passion for life and ministry it would be worship. Mark 12:30 says, “Love the Lord your God will all of your heart with all of your soul with all of your mind and with all of your strength.†In other words, live your life in such a way that you worship the Lord with all that you have. Christ calls us to be a reflection of our God to the world in which we live. Jared’s passion is that the worship of the church would not be expressed only by the songs we sing, but by the way we live our lives.
Raised as a “preacher’s kid,†Jared never really thought he would end-up in full-time ministry. In fact, he didn't even begin playing guitar until his freshman year of college. But God’s timing and plans always supersede our own. It wasn't long before doors began opening with opportunities for Jared to use his gifting to lead others in worship. Now, several years later, and a little wiser, Jared has the privilege of leading thousands every week in the local church body.
Jared has been on staff at Prestonwood Baptist Church for the past four years as the Minister of Student Worship, and in addition to leading worship every week for 1,200 junior high and high school students at Prestonwood, Jared has been traveling all across the state and the country leading young people to the throne of God, and teaching them about the true meaning of living lives of worship dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Regardless of the venue, whether on a stage or in a restaurant, we each have a responsibility to point others to Jesus Christ. If we claim Christ as our Savior, we are to place His message of hope in front of as many as possible that they may see the true worth of God, and in effect, we each become worship leaders. If we only sing songs because of the way they make us feel, or because we like the melody, we will completely miss out on one of the most amazing opportunities we have as believers: to connect our hearts with the heart of God. My hope is that my music would do just that. I pray these songs would not only give people something great to listen to, but would also give them an amazing, and unbelievable connection with their Creator. That is true worship.â€
