Caspar van Meel was born in 1979 in the Netherlands. After finishing his Arts & Culture studies at the University of Maastricht he moved to Essen to study Jazz Double Bass with John Goldsby at the Folkwang Conservatory. He played at festivals like North Sea Jazz (NL), Cologne Jazz Night, WDR Jazz Night and played in some of the more prominent jazzclubs in Germany. Also he did recordings for the WDR and dutch TV and radio like Radio Noordzee. He is almost finished with his studies and is mainly active playing with bands and musicians in the region of NRW, Germany.
