About Me

The Washburn Alumni Association was organized in 1885 to advance the mutual interests of the alumni and the college.Housed in the Bradbury Thompson Center, one of Washburn's most beautiful facilities, the purpose of the Washburn Alumni Association is to nurture and support the relationship between alumni and the University, keep alumni informed regarding University activities, and bring alumni together to promote fellowship and serve our alma mater.Today, the Association reaches out to approximately 39,000 alumni living in all 50 states and several foreign countries. Two thirds of Washburn's alumni live in Kansas. Half of those who live in Kansas reside in Shawnee County. More than 3,000 alumni are proud members of the Alumni Association.

I'd like to meet:

Alumni support is important and vital to the continued success of the Alumni Association and the University. Our overall membership drives the Association's ability to fulfill its mission and goals, sustain existing programs and implement new ideas. Your support and involvement in the Alumni Association allows us to organize an impressive array of alumni gatherings on campus and around the country. Your dues dollars, which are used exclusively to support alumni programs, help fund alumni publications, reunion activities and alumni chapter meetings across the United States, plus a wide variety of other activities.

..Did you know that paying your alumni dues helps the University? Alumni participation, i.e. paying your dues, effects the University's ranking on a variety of reports, including our U.S. News and World Report ranking. In addition, it is a qualifier for the amount of funding the University receives from the State of Kansas. So, paying your alumni dues really pays off for the University.Membership has it privileges. Your Alumni Association membership will entitle you to a variety of benefits. Although the benefits are a bonus, membership shouldn't be based solely on what you get. Quite simply, joining the Alumni Association is a great way to show your Washburn pride.Membership is open to any Washburn supporters. You don't have to be a graduate of Washburn University to be a member of the Alumni Association.
