It was through youth ministry that the founders of The Rescue got to know each other. Before The Rescue, both lead singer Brian Johnson and guitarist Jared Mittelo were active leaders in their youth group, primarily working with their bi-weekly worship service. The Rescue was officially formed in the summer of 2005 when lead singer Brian Johnson, and guitarist Jared Mittelo came together to write their first song, "My Call". Their original intentions were never to start a band, but to simply combine poetry that Brian had written with simple chords. The success of "My Call" encouraged them to keep writing. Nearly two years and over 15 songs later, the band adopted their name The Rescue, and went public. It was in the late summer of 2006 when Jared was first introduced to their now lead guitarist, Brian Carrigg. It was then that the trio combined their raw talent, with their passion for God and love of music. The band now also includes Jared’s younger brother Aaron along with their long time (twin) friends, Joshua and Aaron Schlea. Though they are not yet discovered, and have a long journey before them, they have faith that God will continue to both carry and bless them. The Rescue is complete with hopeful lyrics and melodic instrumentation that will inspire and lift its listeners. The Rescue ultimately hopes to connect its listeners to Jesus Christ in a powerful, life changing way as well as continue the radical movement of Christian music.
"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. FOR HE HAS RESCUED US FROM THE DOMINION OF DARKNESS AND BROUGHT US INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON HE LOVES, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."- Colossians 1:9-14 -[LOVEMYFLASH]
