What's up MySpace? Thanks for stopping past my page. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY but I'm originally from P.G. County, MD. I'm a graduate of Temple University where I studied Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising (Big Ups to TU!).
Upon graduating in 2003, I worked in Market Research for 3 years. While exciting and potentially lucrative, I realized that market research was not the career for me. My heart wasn't into it. In 2007, I decided to go back to school to pursue publishing. In June 2008, I graduated the the Publications Management program at Drexel University.
While pursuing my master's, I interned with Nakea Murray at the wonderful Literary Consultant Group. My partnership with Ms. Murray continues to this day. Oh yeah, I also work part-time as a server at a the popular soul food restaurant, Ms. Tootsies.
I am a member of the ICE COLD Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Omicron Delta Lambda Chapter (00000006!). Additionally, I've been training in the Japanese martial art of Aikido for 2 years and I work out.Needless to say....life is great and extremely busy.
So here is the latest: I finished the publications management program at Drexel. I contemplated my career direction in publishing and decided that editorial is where I will make my mark. For a few months after I graduated I took on a few independent editorial projects. Then in September of 2008 I packed my bags and left Philadelphia as I received and an assistant editor position at a large publisher in NYC. Brooklyn, holla at ya boy!
