To learn more about us, please view our short video here: _______________________________________ About us: Opened in 2002, The Tristesse Grief Center, Inc is a non-profit organization in Tulsa, Oklahoma that provides individual and group counseling, grief education and support, and specialized programs to adults, children and families who are mourning the death of a loved one. The Tristesse Grief Center is named for Tristesse “Tess” Aimee Gonsalves, who died in 2000 at age 14 from cancer. Tess taught all who knew her how to celebrate life and face death with courage. It was Tess’ wish that a place be created where bereaved families could come to share feelings, celebrate the lives of their loved ones, and realize they are not alone in their grief. ___________________________________________ "Artscape" our annual silent and live art auction was held the evening of Sunday October 26, 2008 at The Silo, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor and her husband were our honorary chairpersons. This was a huge success and we are very thankful for the artists and all who contributed.________________________________________***Each year our Art Committee invites selected artists as well as merchants from the Tulsa and Oklahoma region to provide an original piece of art, or merchandise from their business for donation. Recognizing artist's receive multiple requests for donated pieces, as a Contributing Artist, you will recieve: An invitation to "Artscape" 2008, valuable recognition and publicity, as well as the option of earning 30% of the selling price of your work. ___________________________________________ .......... ..The Grief Center also focuses on CELEBRATING the life of loved ones who have died. The Center is filled with quilts and art work made by clients in memory of loved ones. Balloon releases and annual memorial events are held to celebrate lost lives. We rely on the generosity of individuals to help fund our efforts to support those who grieve and we would sincerely appreciate your consideration. ___________________________________________________________T he Tristesse Grief Center is not affiliated with any church, hospice, hospital, funeral home or other private organization. We are an independent, non-profit organization that depends upon the generous support of the Tulsa community in order to offer our counseling services to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. ___________________________________________________________

Anyone who needs help. We are here not only because someone died, but because someone lived. The Grief Center provides a safe haven for adults and children to grieve the death and celebrate the life of their loved one.
