About Me

About Me: I am a bassist living in the Chicagoland area currently in search of an original project. I do some composition and will pitch in 100% on other people's material as well. I have plenty of studio and live experience playing in projects ranging from Rock, Metal, Techno, Pop, Blues and Alternative, etc... My current interest has me listening to and working on Jazz, Acid jazz and more funkish material. I have been playing music since the 80's. Hey I was young when I started ;) I work a day job but I do my homework, make rehearsals count and put everything into gigs.
Current Work: I recently decided since the band search had not been going well, that I would work on solo composition. My eventual hope is to put a band together and I do not want to come to the table empty handed. I picked up Cakewalk Sonar last year and have posted some new tunes. I realized mixing sampled horns for non-cd quality mediums like the web is more tricky than I first anticipated. As I compose, record, mix and master BTW: I also realized its really important to keep a hard separation between these steps I am working to improve the overall quality of the compositions and the production. I look forward to recording and performing with real players but in the mean time I'll continue to create new music. I just posted the song "Fresh Breath for the Revolution" and started on the next one.
Personally: I am happily married with two great kids. In the slide show below you will find photos from various family outings and stray photo of my bass ;) I have got to work on getting more pictures with the whole family. Its tough when my wife or I usually have to take the picture.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: George T - Bass, Sequencing and Loop editing

At this time since I am looking for a band the material I am posting is performed solely by me. I am playing live bass and sequencing the rest of the parts in a small home studio. just started using loops for the drum as reflected in my most recent posting. I would very much like to get other musician's influences into the mix.
Influences: I definitely make a distinct differentiation between "Sounds Like" and "Influenced By". The bands I listed are groups or solo artists that have made an impression on me. A bunch of these are ones I have started listening to recently and I have tried to absorb something from all of them. I would not say I sound like any of them... at all ;)

Tribal Tech, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, No Doubt, Yes, Al Dimiola, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Sade, Jimmy Earl, John Scofield, Jeff Beck, Seal, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Rush, King Crimson, Miles Davis, Rod Stewart, Liquid Soul
Sounds Like: Some have said Medeski Martin and Wood others have said Muzak
Record Label: Unsigned
