About Me

Mother taught me not to talk to strangers, so when sending a friend invite, be personable and introduce yourself... Since most people don't read this, I'll keep it brief.
As a child Narykcin was addicted to microphones, keyboards, and anything that could make sound. Like most black kids, I cut my teeth in the church.
Eight years of my life was spent as a classical double bassist. Throughout high school and middle school I played trombone, bassoon, cello, viola, and the triangle.
In college I started singing. I traveled and recorded for 4 years with Franklin & Marshall's Poor Richards.
In 2005 I decided to try my hand at production. My goal, simple, make music to inspire and uplift people; encouraging them to LIVE.
There's no question that Narykcin's musical footprint is laced with the rich textures of gospel music, jazz, and R&B, but it also bring something fresh to the table. Like a child explaining where babies come from, Narykcin brings a type of innocence to his production that manifests itself in his creative sound-bed. The dreamy synths, which he builds; the neo-classical piano riffs, which he composes; the gospo-jazz chord progressions, which he plays; and his soulful voice (sometimes) make for a real treat. While you never know what his next track is going to sound like, you should expect that it's going to be original, musical, and relevant.
