Captain Dalyn= A young pirate captain of "The Mermaid." Captain Dalyn is not only a captian but a mermaid as well, when she wants to be. Her father was also a pirate captain who searched his whole life for the mysterious creature known as the mermaid. After searching for many years with out being successful he figured that they were just a myth. But one day he was stranded on an island. After three days with out food or water he became very weak, he knew he was dieing and accepted it as he layed on the sand in the smoldering sun. From out of the waves a beautilful mermaid washed herself upon shore and found the man laying there almost dead. He thought he was halucinating until she poured fresh water out of a glass bottle into his mouth. He fell in-love with her and that is how Captain Dalyn became. Since her mother was a mermaid and her father a human she has the ability to transform into a mermaid when needed. Her crew does not know of her secret and she does not want them to find out, causing her to live two different lives and a giant struggle to even the two out. After many failed attempts at love and trying to find the true meaning of it she beleives she has finally found it, causing her to be very happy but at the same time paranoid of losing it because of her experiences before.
When she is a mermaid her tail adapts to what ever her surroundings are. For example if she would be in the arctic ocean her fin would become silver and ice covered. In a tropical area it would turn blue or green. Somtimes it could even depend on her mood. She is also the mascot for "Dana's Shaved ice"!
