As a child in Jamaica, he began singing in his church choir and school concerts. Growing up, he would listen to the music of the late Bob Marley, Papa Levi, Beres Hammond, and the late Peter Tosh. Bonus came to Toronto, Canada in 1990 where he worked as a Disc Jockey in various clubs. He became skilled in the musical art of mixing different styles and formulating his own sound. Bonus then put his talent to writing lyrics. He was a natural. He produced songs such as “Ancient Kings“ and “Judge not” in collaboration with Destry Don whom he also performed on stage with at numerous shows.in different cities. In 1999 he produced and released a compilation of material from various artists including Jagwa, the late El-Negro and his own work. He put out four other singles on the volcano riddim in 2006 which he executive produced for his Positive Noiz Entertainment indie label. He also appeared on Moth, an experimental trip-hop project and Destry Don’s more conventional reggae albums. “Bonus” to his fans is compared to such accomplished artists as Buju Banton,Shaggy,Bounty Killer, and DMX.

What's up with the music scene in Canada no support for the artist no love, there's a lot of talent in Canada. We need to start develop a market for our own shit we got the talent, only buy canadian...
