K.S.

Born in New York City at a time when the funk was ending and Rock, Pop & Hip-Hop was beginning, a young K.S. was surrounded with many genres of music. Being born to a bass player and choir singer, he had all the influence he needed. Vincent Paola, K.S.'s father was a bass player for a well known Merengue group called "Los Nietos Del Rey," "The Kings Nephews." "I remember seeing my father on T.V. as a child" says K.S. "That right there motivated me to get involved in some kind of way with music." Not knowing where to begin or what instrument to pick up, K.S. was confused. With his father out on the road all the time doing shows, he took his own initiative to get familiar with the instruments around his house which included a grand piano. With no guidance or lessons, K.S. quickly began to lose interest. When Hip-Hop began to popularize it self with artist such as RUN-DMC, Kurtis Blow & The FatBoys, it was then that K.S. knew exactly what he wanted to do. "That movie Crush Groove is what really did it for me, not to mention the huge crush I had on Sheila E (laughs)." At the age of 11, K.S. began crafting rhymes and putting songs together and performing them at every talent show he could possibly find. At the age of 14, he began to DJ & rock parties & rapped every chance he got. It wasn't until a friend brought a sampler over to his house to expand his DJ equipment, that was when he really found what he was born to do musically. Putting in work since 1991, K.S. is no stranger to this Hip-Hop sh$t. Having production credits for Killah Priest (Wu-Tang Clan) remixes for DMX & Ghostface Killah, this Queens native has a long and steady production career ahead of him. "I don't really have a signature style." says K.S. "I just do what I feel at the moment." With his artist J-Man, Chad-Misphit, Franky Lines & the label he started by the name of 40 Below Entertainment, he cannot go wrong. "I'm feeling real confident about what we're doing these days and know our time is coming." Already being compared to PeteRock, The Neptunes, DJ Premiere, & Timbaland all in one ball, K.S. is a name that will be ringing bells in the near future without a doubt.......I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
