About Me

For anyone who is remotely interested, I have been playing drums for more years than I care to admit, concentrating on whacking the snare on the two and four (nothing subtle or technical). I get most pleasure from grooving, keeping a band tight and powerful, giving the other guys space to do their thing!!!! Currently I'm playing drums for Stormzone, in a previous life I have been associated with Sweet Savage, Emerald, Peace Frog, Ajenda, to name but a few.In addition to playing drums I also pass on what I have learnt over the years to students at Ossia Music School (Belfast). That presents many challenges as I'm supposed to know what I'm talking about. I have also become involved with a group of multi-cultural musicians, The Motion Project, which has helped to broaden my taste in music, (I still whack it on the two and four). This has led to performances and Ime's (chaos in schools, council offices, work places, etc).To date, I have had the pleasure of playing with many different musicians, in many different environments, all part of the learning curve. Thanks guys for helping me along the way. Davy (Basher) BatesI edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
