I've started to play the guitar when I was 14 years old. I was captured by a book that my brother Paolo received from a friend of his: The Beatles Opera Omnia. It contained the melody vocal line and the guitar chord boxes for all The Beatles songs. I've started to grasp Paolo's guitar and to be guided by that precious book. Then it came the turn of Guns and Roses. I approached the first Slash's solos on the classical guitar: when I realised that it was quite difficult to get the right bending sound, I made up my mind: I bought the electric guitar for my 15th birthday and...bingo, love at first sight. I then deeply run into the led Zeppelin, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Guns and Roses songs, studying the solos as much accurately as I could. Then one afternoon, when I was to Estela, one of school fellows, to study chemistry, I've seen the picture of Slash on a newspaper which advertised the Siviglia Night of the Guitar, broadcasted on Video Music. Once at home, I immediately put the timer on my VHS recorder. It was the first meeting with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai: fabulous...! My life changed, I've seen the masterpieces of the rock guitar and suddenly came to me the desire to approach their music. My brother Paolo was once again focusing on my development: he bought me the sheet music of Surfing With Alien as a Christmas Gift. I still remember when I have opened it the first time: it was a nightmare...but then little by little it became familiar. Moreno, with whom I have started to play ad the age of 15, started to recognize my stile, my precision in doing things. He talked about me in the college, to his school fellows, thus starting an exciting activity for me: teaching. I arrived to have 7 pupils. Another great meeting has put the way of my guitaristic development: the meeting with Beppe, at the high school: he played Fear of The Dark at the final year party. I was totally captured by his precision that I suddenly felt the need to be good with music. And my friend Fabio, one guy I have met on the beach in Liguria, in Italy, was precious too. He was attending the CPM school of music, when he has given me books and authors to get inspired: I've met Stetina and ... Frank Gambale. The desire to play Joe Satriani's tunes live come even more strong when Simone, my neighbor guitarist, listened to me playing and said: we need to do something, we need to use your tremendous resources. And in fact we did: the Marco Tiso Quartet was born. Now Moreno, Simone and Francesco are extremely valuable musicians with whom I am bringing forward the experience of playing Joe Satriani's tune on live.
