I'd like to meet:
Harper Lee. What inspired her to write To Kill a Mockingbird?
Music:
Oldies, older soul, good rock. I sing along with my favorites. I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but I am enthusastic! Don't care for rap or progressive stuff.
Movies:
Anything I don't have to go out to see. You never know who has been in the seat before you! The Notebook is great, Fried Green Tomatos, Steel Magnolias, Something to Talk About, anything factually historic. Living where I do Deliverance is a must for a nervous night.
Television:
Love the History stuff, some crime tv and news. Hate stupid comedy programs.
Books:
Histories, biographies, Taylor Caldwell, James Mitchner, Chiam Potek, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter and some Truman Capote. Shelby Foote is a dynamite writer if you are into southern history.
Heroes:
My husband, Jim Gordy. What a sweet man he was! Honest, caring, generous with his time and he never ignored a need someone had. He was an incredible father, always provided for his family no matter what he really wanted to do. His children came first and he is the model I expect my children to follow. He made me a better person and I miss him very much.
