Mask of Infamy was formed in August 2007 by Ryan Ashley. After playing in various bands and finding himself waiting around for months on end for other people to either get up to speed or show dedication, he finally decided to start his own band. With influences ranging from Black Label Society to Children of Bodom, he wanted to portray the classic metal vocals of his personal favourites Iron Maiden, by making the melody lines as memorable and anthemic as possible. Within 48 hours of uploading the first complete track, Heart of Stone, a full line up was found!
After a year of writing and rehearsing, the band were finally ready to hit the stage, but shortly after playing their first gig, major line up changes were made in the rhythm department, due to musical differences among other reasons. This gave Ryan and Rich the time to improve the existing songs, making sure they were all as strong as possible. Being heavily influenced by the Norwegian progressive metal band Evergrey, they also decided to search for a keyboard player to bring new dynamics to the mix, whilst recruiting a new drummer and bassist.
Now, in 2009, Mask Of Infamy return with a new, musically stronger line up, and with even more drive than ever before!!
