I'm known as Sweet Dreamer here on MySpace and my real name is Karen. You can see the real me under my pictures. I've always been a big dreamer and young at heart. I refuse to grow up completely and be the senior citizen type. To be honest, I'm just a big overgrown kid, still living out my happy childhood.
I also use the screen name "Pinkdogwood", after my love for pink and my favorite flower from the Dogwood Tree. You're not a true Southerner if you don't like Dogwoods. I was also born a Georgia Peach and as far as I know all my family were born and raised here. I really can't imagine living anywhere else. Travel...yes, move from Georgia...I'm not so sure about that. Nine and a half years ago we did pack up and move from Atlanta, where we all grew up, to the North Georgia Mountains of Dahlonega. That was a major move for us and it's only an hour and a half away.
Another important thing that you should know about me is that I've been told that I'm a complex individual. I prefer to use the word "unique" instead. I think I just have a genuinely good personality with a little bit of spice to keep things interesting. I have a good sense of humor and enjoy making people laugh.
I've always been labeled as the quirky one by my family. Over time I have come to the conclusion that my whole family are a bit warped as well, but well loved regardless of there maladies. We all tend to have our own off-beat sense of humor. I do my best to find some humor in most situations even when things in my life aren't going well. Laughter is truly good medicine for the soul.
I am also a very family oriented person and my family comes first before everything else. I am married and met my husband, Van 31 years ago. We celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary on February 8th. We have one daughter, Stephanie, who is 24, whom we love more than anything. Her Dad got knocked down a notch once she popped into the world to 2nd place and he still holds that rank. Stephanie has been engaged to a wonderful guy Brian like forever and a day. We already call him our son. My sister Kathy is a big part of my life and we are the best of friends. Van, Stephanie, Brian and Kathy are the most wonderful family one could ask for. Of course I could never leave out my, oh so charming and delightful Niece, Nephew and Great Nephew who all love me dearly. Things are never perfect with our family but I have to say I've truly been blessed with the whole bunch.
Also, our family includes our 2 dogs, Cody, and Boomer. They are not just our pets, but our family. In late March Stephanie and Brian added a grandchild to our 4 legged babies. Her name is Roxy and Marley ain't got nothing on this wild child. She's a keeper and life at our house would never be complete without our 4 legged children. Animals have always been a big part of my life and I love all living creatures.
Other than that, and believe me there's plenty more. I really enjoy talking and interfacing with people of all ages, lifestyles and cultures. That is as long as you are a nice person and here for just plain old fun, sharing and friendship. I am a full time caregiver to my husband who has cancer and I don't get to send out comments everyday. I do keep in touch as much as I can and I'm always happy to accept new friends. Those of you who want to be real friends and not collectors. That is if you have a gazillion friends and looking just for the numbers and comments, don't bother to make a friend request. Please don't take offense but I want to be up front and honest with everyone.
