About me? What's there to say? To be understood, heard and respected for who we truly are is all we can ask for right? If you wanna take the time to get to know me...then you will know who I Be. My Islamic name means "Generous", it is my nature...and that has been my problem way too many times. In 2009, I'm concentrating on me.
I would like to think I'm good people. Easy going. Laid back. Kinda smart when I wanna be. To know me is feel me, none of that same ol' BS you get from all the other guys. I live with my emotions on my sleeves, take things very personal and I speak from the heart. I am pretty damn complex and deep, so it takes time to figure my ass out. But I think one would find that I am one well grounded and cool ass negro living the black man's struggle. I only want the people around me to be happy, with me for me. After so much time spent putting my all into loving and nurturing others, I lost myself in the process. So, I am trying to learn to love myself these days and not me dependent or others to fill that need in me.
I do not have time for much or anyone. With being a father, being a coach and trying to be this acclaimed poet..all at the same time, it's hard. I am trying to keep it all together while trying to correct the past mistake of not giving time to the things that should be most important to my life, my daughters.
I just want to be happy someday without feeling so lost inside. They say a Poet is never appreciated until he is gone...maybe they were thinking about me. I hope I will make a difference to somebody in this world before I die. People have shown that they care about me. Whether I live. Whether I die. Nevertheless I can feel myself losing my race with time. So here I sit impatiently hoping that one day before I close my eyes...
