rDJ Since or D.JAY$INCE has been in the Austin music scene for years, "Since" comes from his TAG as a Graffiti artist in the late 80s, "S I N C E" started B-BOYIN' BACK IN 84 . After years of dancing , he started a second genaration of B-BOYS called "Capital Soul" back in 1994, In 1997-1998, "S I N C E" BEGAN DJIN' & started doing mixtapes called "Dollaz N Since" mixes for local stores and other DJs that needed fill-in cd mixes. In 2000 DJ Since opened up Backstage Music a mom and pop shop in Austin Tx, the same year a mutual friend ( MARTAIN "THE HITMAN" R.I.P.)brought a young hungry DJ to "Since's" attention to help him by the name of Ric Almeda aka Rapid Ric. Through Sinces mom and pop store he would help push Rics mixtapes out of there and help Ric come up in the Austin music scene. After introducing and promoting Ric directly to the likes of Chamillionaire, Micheal Watts, Chalie Boy, Trae, Slim Thug and others Since and Ric would have a falling out(long story). Around that time Since had already started helping another young and hungry DJ from Houston Tx by the name of David Elliott aka DJ Grip. Grip was making local mixtapes as well and would help Since run Backstage Music. In 2004 Since would come up with the idea to start Dollaz N $ince Ent, him and Grip would be the owners. From there they would collab on the Down In Texas mixtapes and other titles. Through Since's connections and Grips networking hustle, a opportunity for Grip to have his own radio show came along on The Beat. Then Since's son was 12 years old at the time and started watching and learning and wanted to start DJin as well, Raymond Huerta III would come up with his own alias as DJ Young Spinna. After DJin at club "Whut It Dew" and open for various acts such as UGK,Devin the Dude, Chingo Bling, Scarface and others, YoungSpinna created his own fan base. Since is the CEO and works on -original music- while helping Grip and Spinna as solo artist under the company. Dollaz N Since is a company that does more than just mixtapes and DJs(more details coming soon) Dollaz N' Since Entertainment : CEO: DJ'SINCE is well respected in the underground Mixtape seen here in Texas. Working with artists like SLIM THUG, Bun B, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Trae, SUC, Magno, Wreckin Yard, Basswood Lane, Dok Holiday his name and company have become almost household. The Down in Texas Mixtape Series have stirred up a lot of talk and a lot of interest all over the 3rd Coast. This aspiring music producer has sold over ,000 mixtapes in just 1 year. However its been a long time coming for him. DJ'SINCE has proven himself in the hip hop/rap scene for over a decade. From SINCE's B-Boy days with the well known B-BOY CREW, "Capitol Sou"l, to his early DJing days he has put in work for over 10 years. Since has proven himself through the local radio and club circuit with his dedication to breaking new music and local artist's. "I can honestly say I've listenened to almost every genre of music as a I grew up, I mean I taught myself how to play the guitar when i was only 12 years old," Grip adds. But as Grip entered into High School in 1998, there was a new style of music emerging throughout the country's 4th largest city. The southern slowed or "screw" movement began to become a force not only in Houston, but the rest of Texas. "I remember in High School we jammed Screw and SwishaHouse because it was different, we didnt want to jam what everyone else was jammin', we wanted ours screwed up."Houston super artist that you now see everywhere today were just local names growing up for DJ Grip. "I saw first hand artist like Lil Flip, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, & Chamillionaire come from sellin' mixtapes just in Houston to sellin' albums world wide". After graduating High School and a few run ins with the law, it was time for Grip to move on with his life. "I remember from like 2000-2002, I had like 3 cases pending on me and my parents pretty much told me I had to move to Austin to live with my brother because I was gettin' in to too much trouble down in Houston." At the age of 18 he would make that move to Austin to go to school at ACC and eventually transfer to Texas State, but school would only entertain for so long. One year after his move to Austin, DJ'ing would come calling. "I was tired of buyin cds so I just started making my own mixes on my computer, then the next thing you know I went bought some crappy turntables and started practing all day and night".At age 21, DJ Grip has accomplished more than what most can say they have in a lifetime. In just 3 years of DJ'ing, DJ Grip has risen to success throughout the south thanks in part to fellow partner and CEO of Dollaz N Since Enterntainment, DJ Since. Having worked with some of the music industry's elite artists like Mike Jones, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Screwed Up Click, Magnificent, DSR, Trae, Z-Ro, Grip has already become a household name. In just 1 year DJ Grip and partner D.JaySince have sold over 30,000 mixtapes in the southern region and Grip has seperated himself from other DJ's with his top of the line blends and remixes. DJ Grip and D.JaySince's Down In Texas mixtape series has been stirring up talk all over the south with its originality and quality considering most mixtapes DJ's do everything BUT mix.
