Born & raised on the island of Aruba, Pecao! has been influenced by many types of music, from looking at & listening the old guys play every Sunday afternoon on musical instruments a-la- "Buena Vista Social club"-tunes from the old countries to growing up with Carnival season on Aruba.It's hard to explain the carnival season to outsiders, but this has been the essence for DJ Medusa(Pecao!) to be able to be so versatile in playing different types & styles of music & having an eclectic taste for groove & great music from all genre's from all around the world.Other than that DJ Medusa has been around the way & didn't get real serious about dj-ing untill doing an assessment at a school. They ask to put a product together & do the business plan for it. After many weeks of thinking he decided: " The best product I know & that I can sell succesfully is "me"!"because of being envolved in many musical endeavors like playing in a brassband to being a dj at different parties & music venues on Aruba, DJ Medusa discovered he had the power to save a dying party. With the nac for finding good music & creating great atmosphere, he decided to take his hobby to the next level.After doing many gigs on the island of Aruba(Full Moon parties @ Havana Beach Club) to teh Screaming eagle lounge & back to the Eighties parties & afternoon Lounging at Moomba beach bar, to playing at the National Hotel(as a demo DJ for Denon in 2006) & hotel Delano's for the WMC end party in Miami, he decided to take his gig & product to Holland.After doing some minor gigs in Holland, DJ Medusa spreaded out to a little Greek island called Santorin. He did a 6 week gig for a beach bar & then december 2008 he played for a New Years party in Fuerteventura.The thing you have to understand about seeing DJ Medusa in action, is that you get a total package. You have to see him in action, how he enjoys himself & put his soul in every gig & performance. His smile when someone steps to him or tell him that they liked his set &/or tunes. He loves to see people enjoy themselves at a party or venue where he is performing.Other than that he hopes to roll with the big boys someday soon & show the dance world that there is a new Superman in town, only that he wears his "S" on the inside!!!DJ Medusa has no particular favorite music genre, he loves grooves, live music with soul or certain genre's with groove & soul, music that's alive & that can keep a party going until the break of dawn(or beyond!!!). House(tribal, progressive,vocal, beach or disco), Reggae(roots), Merengue & Salsa, Caribbean Carnaval & Soca, Hip Hop/Rap & R&B,Fusion Jazz, Lounge & Chill-Out Tunes, all this type of music to play depends on what kind of party or activity there is, what the promoters or organisers have in mind, what country & what kind party people are coming out to enjoy themselves. DJ Medusa can adapt to any situation & carries all types of music with him, no surprises.
