I am Rachel. I am county. A lot of people don't like to admit where they're from, especially if you grew up in PG county. I was born at PG Community Hospital. For 25 of the 26 years of my life, I've lived in PG county. I went to PG county public schools and University of Maryland (also in PG county). My dad was born and raised in PG county and has never moved out. There are others like me...they too are county. You may be wondering what could be wrong with a place where so many people choose to live and stay to raise families. So what if we've had 155 murders already this year. Who cares about the fact that more cars are stolen in PG county than anywhere else in the nation? And I know that teachers and principals involved in major drug rings don't bother you. Well okay, PG does stand for "pretty ghetto" and "positively gangsta", but it's where I live and I like it. MS13 members are our neighbors and we like them. I hear gun shots all the time and they soothe me to sleep. This is my home and I'm proud of it!

My Interests

Recently I've become addicted to traveling. In the last year I've been all over Ireland, England, Wales, and Scotland. I snowboarded for the first time in Colorado and got to go to Maui 5 weeks later. In April I went to Vegas and it was too much fun. Got plans to go to the Outer Banks next weekend and lucky me gets to go back to Colorado in August.

Music:

All kinds...you like it, chances are i like it too. I'm halfway obsessed with The Killers right now and have gotten back into the original Seatle rock (i.e. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains). Radiohead is still awesome and I've crossed over to the darkside and like Coldplay, but just a little. O.A.R., Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Talking Heads, Violent Femmes, Justin Timberlake, Paul Oakenfold, 50 Cent, and Frank Sinatra can all be found on my iPod. Can't wait for Virgin Fest!

Movies:

Goonies, Big Fish, all of the Scary Movies, Spaceballs, Goodfellas, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Half Baked, The 40-year-old Virgin, The Motorcycle Diaries, Hustle and Flow, The Notebook (I am a girl!), anything funny or Scary, some drama

Television:

Lost, like crack, I can't give it up, The Office, My Name Is Earl, Jeopardy! I know I'm a dork, Digging for the Truth, Josh Bernstein is soooo hot.

Books:

really appreciative of some of the kids books I read: My Father's Dragon, Elmer and the Dragon, and the Dragons of Blueland, Mr. Popper's Penguins, James and the Giant Peach, Holes, Sideways Stories from the Wayside School also liking some of the old classics that I've read recently, The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye
