I'd like to meet:

Hey! Welcome to DAAB Present's new myspace page. Our old page had a few technical issues like we couldn't send e-mail and it was registered as a myspace film instead of a regular myspace. In any case, welcome.

Here is our story. DAAB was started in mid-March of '06 when Devon and I had this idea of throwing a fundraiser to raise money for a film we wanted to produce and perhaps at the same time show Vancouver what an amazing resource it had of local actors, designers, models, and DJs. It was a lot of work to produce. A lot. Like 12 hour days for 30 straight days. Two guys who had never thrown a party of this magnitude before dealing and interacting with a team of about 50 people. It was pretty nuts. Thankfully, it was a huge success and we received a lot of press and praise for our work. The fashion show was spectacular. The designers and models did such a fantastic job. We were so excited to have such an amazing team of sponsors for that event. Honestly, it was like having a 30 day pregnancy and seeing your baby come out nice and healthy. What a fun night.

As a result of the praise and constructive critism, we realized that Vancouver really lacks in cool special events. Coming from Toronto via Los Angeles myself and Devon from Ottawa through San Francisco and Las Vegas, we were both well aware of what nightlife could really be. Granville is cool, but seriously, who are we kidding.

So from there DAAB continued throwing events at different venues throughout Vancouver. We seem to have a loyal guest base as we tend to see a lot of the same faces from party to party. This city really does have the potential to have a spectactular nightlife. You just need the right promoter (where we come in), the right crowd (where you come in) and the right themes (where influences from other cities come in).

I hope you come out for the first time or come again to one of our next events. We, from the bottom of our hearts appreciate you coming out to spend your nights with us. We realize 10, 15, or 20 dollars is a lot of money and our number one goal is making sure you really walk out of the club feeling like you had the most awesomest goodest time ever.

And by the way, since a lof of people ask, the name DAAB comes from Devon's and my initials.
