About Me
Singer/songwriter Daisy Dern grew up in a musical household in Northern California’s Marin County, where the music of Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Doc Watson, Waylon Jennings and Linda Ronstadt were regulars on the family turntable. At the age of eight, Daisy began playing piano, and by the time she was in her early teens, she was writing, singing and recording her own songs on her Fostex four-track recorder and dreaming of a career in the music business. By the time she was old enough to get into bars, Daisy had already put together her first country band. While fronting The Blue Horizon Band and playing nightclubs and parties throughout Northern California, Daisy earned her college degree in Music Business from San Francisco State University. She also attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusettes for one year where she studied voice and music theory. In 1993, with seven years of professional musical experience behind her and her college degree in her pocket, Daisy decided it was time to move to Nashville and fulfill her childhood dream of scoring a record deal.In 1995, Daisy not only moved to Music City, but met hit songwriter, producer and former front man of the ACM award-winning Gibson/Miller Band, Dave Gibson. After they were married in 1997, Dave and Daisy toured the world together, performing their songs in Indonesia, Switzerland, Ireland and all over the United States. It was when their daughter, Savannnah, was two years old that Daisy realized she better take her shot a getting a record deal before it was too late. With their best songs in hand, Daisy and Dave went into the studio with no idea of what was to come. With in weeks, Daisy would be a recording artist signed to Mercury Records, Dave would be producing her debut album, and the two would have a single on it's way to the country radio airwaves. After one Billboard-charting single, entitled "Gettin' Back To You", Daisy parted ways with Mercury and decided to pursue her song writing and artistry on her own. She is currently working on her new forthcoming album and writing songs.Daisy Dern and Dave Gibson launched a new independent record label and publishing company named for their daughter, Savannah Music Group.
