Praise for the Writings of Dan Circus:
"Never before has an author chronicled the history of fire retardation in such a vitriolic fashion. Mesmerizing! This novel's indictment of modern day firefighting is as uplifting as it is unnerving. Everyone's a Crybaby definitely turned me into one.
-The New York Times
"Silent Basements, Quiet Rooms:An In-Depth Glance Into Underwater Gang Activity is as moving a portrait of Victorian-era family life as I've ever read."
-The Los Angeles Times
"You want cutting-edge American fiction? Read a Dan Circus novel. And thank whatever god it is you thank that he picked up a pen."
-Salman Rushdie
"It's superb. To say it is one of the most thoughtful and inspired short stories to come out of modern American Literature is an inadequate compliment. In it, Dan obliterates the boundaries on which we've come to be accustomed as he exposes the deep, and sometimes frightening underbelly of tobacco production. Circus lets his imagination soar; in doing so, he sets ours free as well."
-Gore Vidal
