As murmuring machines attain cognizance on the opening track, "Nucleus," the Aural Blasphemy blueprints for rhythmic industrial noise are aligned, exemplified by caustic squelch and stern, battering ram percussive dynamics shoved into a vortex of distortion. Through a catalog of diverse sonic textures, agility is attained that many like-minded practitioners lack. The twelve tracks on Catharsis run the rhythmic gamut, from spastic, barb-wire massaged techno mayhem ("Crisis"), to imploding factory rattle urgency ("Sledge"), to excursions dipped in regurgitated magma ("Movement"), to restrained, scrub and peck intricacies ("Transcend"). Catharsis is a supreme example of the union of rhythm and noise!
