Born To Hula

About Me

Born To Hula are a dark-but-colourful three-piece band that tumbled onto the scene at the end of 2007, surprising audiences with their fresh sounds. A double bass, and some affectionate jazz sensibilities are thrown against danceable beats, hooky punk guitars, and shouty vocals. The Hulas are influenced by an eclectic mix of alternative to poppy indie acts, producing edgy catchy songs to jump around to. For a band that's been around just over a year the noisy Hulas have been busy, having already put together a heap of original songs, a handful of recordings, and played countless shows around the island. They played their first international gig at the Spring Scream festival in April, and are lining up to head to a festival in Manila, a gig in Beijing, and a mini-tour of South East Asia soon. They were also picked to feature on the Underground Compilation CD of emerging Hong Kong talent. The Hulas are in the studio and are working towards bringing out their very own EP soon.GonerThe Lala SongWe Tigers
