Hello, I'm Jake and I've been playing guitar over the past 11 years of my life off and on. I used to play with a small garage band called Damage Morality but since that has died out I've been writing some music of my own and learning to add my own twists. Over the past few months I've begun to take some of my work a bit more seriously as music is my passion and I enjoy playing it. Everything here say for two covers is of my own creation, and there will be more on the way.
The songs:
Dirge of Darkness: Finally complete, it's the first time I've used a synthetic orchestra and the second for piano.
The Unforgiven: I was inspired by a video of this song by Apocalyptica to make a cover myself. This is probably one of the most iconic songs ever.
Rise of the Richter: I have revised this one twice thus far, this third incarnation is far more complete and progressive than the others. All the instruments are there now and I actually think this is now one of my better songs.
Low Man's Lyric: For such a little known Metallica song it's quite good. Instead of using keyboard effects this time I opted to add extra guitars to cover the effects. In all there are five guitars in this recording.
Sanitarium: One of my favorite songs of all time, my guitar work does not do it justice.
Dirge of Distance: It has some of the best rhythm acoustic-sounding lines I've made yet. This one could possibly be my best yet.
Synthesis: An old song written nearly two years ago now but still one of my best. Its lines are hard and heavy; but compared to recent works lacks creativity.
I owe a lot of my ideas to my friends who have inspired me in part to work on projects like this. They're the reason why I play at all.
