This Harlem native began singing at a young age in her bedroom with a record player and hairbrush in hand. Her classically trained 4 ½ octave lyric soprano voice often compared to Kathleen Battle, Minnie Riperton, and Deniece Williams. It was then when her parents pushed her further into the arts by acting in many off broadway musical productions. She received formal training starting from the High School of Music and the Performing Arts, Harlem School of the Arts , and Mannes Conservartory of Music which enabled her to receive a full music scholarship to Stillman College where she obtained a bachelors in both Vocal Music and Broadcast Communications. Fela has appeared on many stages. showcased throughout the New York City area with various accomplished R&B and Gospel artists, featured on double platinum artist Lil’ Kim’s 1996 album, written an co-produced jingles for NYC radio station Hot 97, two time Apollo Theater winner, Sony Music Showcase female vocalist winner, and recognized in Billboard Magazine for title track of an independent compilation “Angel watching meâ€. Fela has worked with grammy nominated production team Full Force, jazz guitarist Ronny Jordan, Cassandra Wilson, Classical Violinist Andre Rieu, and Max Roach. Fela is a current member of Chapter 2, Sweet Spirits, currently working on her second compilation of original material, and vocalist for NU Phamlee Soul........
