About Me

My first CD, “Snow Day” includes a series of songs I hope touch listeners in a good way.
“Snow Day” includes an assortment of hard folk rock tunes and songs riding the fence between folk and country, all with themes about work, the love of a dog, the loss of a loved one and the pleasure of a snow day when for a moment the world does seem so brand new.
My earliest memories of music are of the great old country legends like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr. and Kitty Wells, which my father played all the time. I fondly remember being crammed in the back seat of the car on a Friday night with three other sisters. Dad had country music playing on the car stereo as we made our way to the Burlington Diner.
I've been dipping toes into the music pool on and off throughout my life and find writing in general a great and soothing release. It is something I can do for the rest of my life if I can keep ahold of my mind and fingers.
I always liked to write and sing, but in the mid 90’s, during a particularly emotional time in my life, I rented a guitar from the local music store, asked a friend to teach me a few chords. I joined the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s (NSAI) local chapter to learn about song writing and improve my skills. I'm still getting it, but feel song writing is a craft like any other that comes better with passing seasons.
A few years ago I decided to get more serious and record some songs, so I finally dove in and created my first full length CD, “Snow Day”. I'm recording more songs as they are completed and as I have time. I am currently working on my second CD due to be completed in 2009.
My ultimate goal is to own and operate my own farm while continuing to write and record music that not only moves me, but others in the world.
