About Me

The Sound of Speed formed in November of 2003. S.O.S. plays mostly original music but has covered bands such as Stereophonics and Travis.Musical influences include Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, New Order, The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Oasis and Placebo to name a few. Thus comes the SOS "sound" produced.The guitars that churn out moving chord progressions are manipulated by songwriters Carlos Pulido, a.k.a. Omega Man, and Varun Jhaveri. Omega Man's arsenal of lead guitar and rhythms conjure up images of a bluesman in space.Varun's vocals and rhythm guitar are reminiscent of the best in modern British rock. aNdi Puzl is the epitome of a rock and roll drummer, steadily playing rock-solid, back-bone beats.The Sound of Speed remembers that the best part of music is a great hook, whether it's an interesting guitar lick or a catchy chorus. Influences: We're heavily influenced by British pop/rock, although our influences range individually from Oasis to AC/DC to Placebo. We incorporate a little of the favs and put a twist of S.O.S in there.
