1971 Persepolis

From October 12-16 1971 was held the Tahkt-e-Jamshid/Persepolis Festival, which celebrated 2500 years of Iran's history and heritage as the World's oldest country. On those dates, which coincided with Ayathrim Ghambar, World leaders and visiting foreign and Iranian dignataries were treated to an event which clebrated Iran's rich heritage. This included a parade of Iran's military, past and present, and a grand banquet which was the largest gathering of Royals from around the World at any one event. Not only did this event celebrate Iran's heritage but it also provided a venue for people to meet where they could not have under normal circumstances. The guests arrived from 12-14 October, with the Grand Banquet being held on 14 October, folowed by a nighttime fireworks display. On 15 October the Parade of 2500 years, displaying Iran's military throughout it's history, was held. On 16 October an homage to Reza Shah e Bozorg was held and the opening of the Shahydad Tower in Tehran. The guests who attended are listed below, Royal Guests in order of Rank.
