Kimly : [Kim-lee], noun. A So-Cal Vietnamese American girl striving to pursue her passion in music. Since the day she was born, Kimly was destined to be a performing artist. Raised in a deeply musical environment, Kimly knew at a young age that she loved to sing her heart out and perform for an audience. By seventeen, Kimly realized that music was more than just a hobby, and passion drove her to begin learning the guitar and writing her own music. Having some experience playing the violin since age ten, the guitar came naturally, and music began to flow easily into lyrical form. That same year, this self-taught musician solidified her pursuit in a musical career, debuting at an open mic on campus during her first month as a college freshman. By the time she graduated, Kimly had performed periodically at local venues, and gained a tight knit of loyal fans.Ambitious, though nervous about her career path, Kimly was fortunate enough to have supportive friends and family to encourage her decisions in chasing her dreams. With a few of her dedicated friends, Kimly and her team set forth to challenge major record labels. They were convinced that with enough hard work, commitment, and of course luck, success is absolutely attainable. This gave birth to their indie label, Genius Cubed Entertainment. Kimly remains focused, finding inspiration for her music through life’s relationships. Whether it be between a basil and tomato, or friendship and love, Kimly tries to capture the precise moment or feeling through her words and melody.Currently, Kimly’s project is to complete her first full-length album, entitled “A Soul to Seek.†This 13-song collection of acoustic tracks is produced by T.K. Gardner, with all lyrics and music written by Kimly. “A Soul to Seek†contains songs about inspiring hope and confidence in love and life. This alternative pop-rock artist showcases herself in a full-band setting in her 4-song EP, entitled “Good Evening,†which will be out in early February of this year.
