Pat Shannon

Pat Shannon has been around now since longer than he cares to remember. In fact as a kid back in the seventies he has played on the same stages as the likes of The Boomtown Rats,The Undertones, Skid Row (the Irish one) and of course the now almighty, U2. Unlike these off he went off along with the rest of the bands he played with at the time to make some"serious" dosh from playing at weddings, dinner dances etc. Which meant foresaking his own material to persue a covers-band reptoire,not good for one's own material,but finances had to be covered and that's life. So thankfully he has arrieved back on the straight and narrow to where his roots began,with his own material. At the moment he has put together e few different shows ,one is an Irish /Celtic / Celtic Rock show,this one features a selection of classic Irish hits from presant and past with material from the likes of The Pogues,The Dubliners and many more.On the Celtic rock side,Thin Lizzy,Van Morrison and U2 are just some of the featured artists.The second show is made up of Classic hits spanning five decades or so. But the last is his own pride and joy,that is his own material.This show is packed with his songs which span from the early eighties right to his latest compo's.This one contains the many different styles of music he has gone through over the years.Well worth catching sometime ! During each show he plays keyboard,guitars, electric mandolin, banjo and harmonica. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for the Pat Shannon show near you!!
