Vadim Key

Apparently his taste in music was formed under the strange circumstances. Occasional listenings to funk, disco-funk while being a kid (late 80s) have put a first brick in his wall of taste. In 1998 his music collection was started. Instinct, Irma, Ninja Tune, Compost – were labels to fill in his collection with sounds of funk, acid jazz, nu jazz, deep house and hip-hop. And that was how he formed his unique style of playing, the way he sounds today, the ‘funky’ way. His dj premiere has happened May 2003 on the ground of NC Club (Minsk). And in September (same year) Vadim Key was offered a residency for the whole year. In the very beginning if his dj career he was mostly playing deep house and broken beat, but later he had moved to funky-disco breaks, party breaks & house. For the last 5 years Vadim Key was a head-liner in almost every single club or dj-bar in Minsk. However you could see Vadim Key rocking the all over the Belarus and outside its borders: Kazantip Festival-2006, Koktebel (Ukraine), St.-Petersburg, Ryazan (Russia), Gomel, Grodno, Brest, Vitebsk, Pinsk, Zhodino, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Molodechno (Belarus) and others. Vadim Key is a representative dj of the 12” Promo group (www.12life.org). Together they are working on developing of electronic music in Belarus. In 2005 his mix “Unbeautiful breaks” was issued on the “Novaya Cultura” label (1000 copies). According to the www.bestdj.by/2007 voting he was 7th in the DJ..s Top 10 in Belarus (8th in 2008). Vadim Key has played with many famous djs and producers from all over the world, among them are: Ludovic Llorca (F Communication, France), Atomic Hooligan (Menu Music, UK), Aquasky (Passenger, 777, UK), Klaus "Heavyweight" Hill (TitleFight, UK), Paul Trouble Arnold (FAT!, UK), General Midi (Distinctive Breaks, UK), DEF Inc. (Botchit Breaks, UK), Freestylers (UK), Lady Waks (Russia), DJ K1-Kriz (Poland), Lena Popova (Russia), Mars (Russia), DJ Glow (Austria), and many others. Vadim Key has been the resident of dj-cafe "Apricot" since october 2007.
