I like the smound of that!!

About Me

I'm 25 years old, originally from Muskegon, MI, a mid-size city on the shores of Lake Michigan. After finishing college I moved out west to pursue a childhood dream, snowboarding with no other commitments or responsibilities. The past two seasons were probably the greatest experience in my life so far. However, reality is starting to call, and as much as I hate to admit it, it's time for me to focus my energies and talents elsewhere for a while.I'm currently substitute teaching in schools around the area. It's good to be helping educate the next generation, even if they don't care at the moment, perhaps someday they will. Beyond that, I am awaiting acceptance to graduate school to pursue my master's in Geography.I consider myself to be very laid back and mellow which I attribute to growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan. I guess you could say I'm a Michigan boy at heart, and that the west coast of the great lake state will always be my home, no matter where I end up.

My Interests

Snowboarding, the outdoors, photography and design, intellectual people, the arts, and music

I'd like to meet:

A lot of people...some living, some dead...The Dali Llama himself.

Music:

I listen to all kinds of music from bluegrass to hip-hop and everything in between except country.

Movies:

I like movies that make me think, that communicate to me in more ways than just the boring formulaic scenarios of most American mainstream films. Triplets of Bellville was really cool, Sin City is Great, City of God and Motorcycle Diaries are both very good as well. If you're into the reggae and rasta scene check out "Rockers:it's Dangerous" another great film. A few others I've seen recently are American Splendor and V for Vendetta, both are great.

Television:

I'll watch Family Guy, The Simpsons, Weeds, The Discovery Channel, Curb your Enthusiam and a whole lot of the Weather Channel, but I try to avoid the evil device as much as possible.

Books:

Currently reading: "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Just Finshed:"Downhill Slide:Why the Corporate Ski Industry is bad for Skiing, Ski Towns, and The Environment." by Hal Clifford Favorites: On the road, A Sand County Almanac, The Dharma Bums. To read: Walden, Guns, Germs, and Steel. The God Delussion, A River Runs Through It.

Heroes:

My hero is anyone who is out there doing what they love, and living life to the fullest.
