About Me
When I originally came up with the idea for the Black Baseball Page/Experience, it was intended to promote and support the OFFICIAL Negro League Baseball INC., and its legacy, however, I realized that would limit the horizons of my intentions as well as appear to the public and REAL Negro League supporters alike as a bloodsucker, selling hats and T shirts with the logos on it. Now, Black Baseball is here to celebrate, inform, and promote the dynamic effect of the Black men and women involved in America's pastime; past, present, and future.
In lieu of Barry Bond's recent passing of HR King Henry "Hank" Aaron's 755 home run record(and he's quickly approaching 800), many naysayers and critics are expressing their 21st century "No Nigger Ruth" sentiments just as their parents did over 30 years ago. You accuse him of steriod usage, call him slanderous names all while you're doing suicide flips in the stands trying to catch one of his home runs!LMAO!!! So, if you're in denial of MLB's new HR King, then you probably won't like this experience. If you can bear with that, then we can talk about "that New York game".
As for me, I'm a lifetime player and fan of baseball and the Amazin' Mets. I lived in Ebbets Field(the projects), grew up in East New York, BK and played baseball on Cohen Field and Five Diamonds(all my Starrett City cats know) which is a hop, skip and a jump from Highland Park/Greenwood Cemetary so all you real baseball fiends would agree that baseball has always been in me without choice. Currently, I'm a freelance writer in the entertainment field, but you(myspace friends) will get a chance to experience my sports debut before I blow!
I am also a collector of EXCLUSIVE Black Baseball/Negro League cards and memorabilia. If are looking for something to add to your collection, have info about shows and signings, or have something that I might be interested in, please feel free to contact me, especially if it involves a player or players that played professionally pre jackie Robinson. That includes memorabilia of my Hispanic and Oriental brothers as well. History and science has revealed that we are all one. No disrespect to the white baseball player, but DAMN! you ran the shit since its inception and kept us out! This is where we shine!Any and all comments, positive and negative, are welcome. Enjoy the Black Baseball experience!!!
