Amorf Ördögök (Amorphous Devils) are an usual music experiment from Hungary, Budapest. Their captivating music has the cutting edge electronic sound fused with the atmospheric moods of a half a century ago. The band on stage constists of seven members whose musical roots seem to be light-years apart but that, by all means, goes to the listener’s advantage. This newborn music is fresh, hip and melodious, yet stands for his own. The Devils play a unique verison of modern pop.
Athe core of the band’s sound are breakbeats and noises laid down by Ambrus Tövisházi, who also produces future jazz tracks and remixes under the Erik Sumo moniker. The front male vocalist, Szabolcs Tariska, also in charge of the lyrics, has emerged from the theater and film world. He takes us on a journey to the 30s and 40s often fondly or with lingering irony. Bar songs in the vein of Kurt Weil and Tom Waits, gloomy and happy marches are the building blocks of their vibes just as much as the contribution of the other band members: the noise guitar virtuoso Zoltán Farkas, István Pápai with his dub-latin elements on percussions, Gergely Drapos on rolling funky bass, Ãkos Tompa on trumpet and Zsombor Dudás, a dynamic and sensitive drummer.
