Growing up as a youth in Mansfield City, Ohio, Capital C possessed a strong passion for music. Inspired by hip-hop notables like B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, and Tupac, Capital C realized he had a gift for creative storytelling. Beginning his writing career at the youthful age of 13, he used music as a tool to express himself.
Once in high school, Capital C formed a hip-hop group called “The LG’sâ€, with three of his classmates. Proving to be the most dedicated and motivated out of the group, Capital C set out to pursue a career as a solo artist. Throughout high school, Capital C perfected his craft, battling, free-styling; displaying his talent whenever he had an audience.
Confident that he was equipped with the skills to represent his city, in 2007 when V Hyphen dropped “Arsonic Dosage 1â€, Capital C was the main feature on the street certified mix-tape.From here, Capital C began performing at various venues in Mansfield City and throughout the surrounding Ohio areas.
In July 2008, Capital C delivered a highly talked about live performance at the Renaissance Theatre, opening up for Gucci Mane, Ray Cash, and Chip the Ripper. With a heavy buzz and the entire Mansfield City behind him, Capital C is sure to overcome the odds of coming from a small town. He is currently working on his debut CD, “Where The Fuck Is Mansfield: Mansfield City?†with production by 1987, and is set to be released in October of this year.
Capital C has one goal and that is to put Mansfield City on the map by giving the music world good, relatable music taken from real life experiences. “I’m creating music for everyone; the block hugger, the partygoer, the ladies. When you play my CD, everyone that listens will be able to find something they can relate to.â€
Carrying Mansfield City on his back, Capital C is determined to put them on the hip-hop map!
