Southern Skies

About Me

Members and songwriters of the folk punk group, The Pasties, and the harmonic stringband The Blackberry Bushes, Joey Capoccia and Kendl Winter distill and team up to create Southern Skies, an acoustic duet featuring original and traditional music reminscent of their home towns in the Ozarks and Appalachian mountains. Often accompanied by a drummer, their driving music quickly holds a captive audience telling stories of traveling, breaking down, and moving on down the road in vehicles that rarely cost em more then $500. Switching from banjo, bass, guitar and dobro, the Southern Skies bring twenty years of musicianship to their performance pickin' original songs, bluegrass, and old-timey traditionals. They've played at festivals, markets, weddings, bars, and coffee shops through out the northwest. They're currently putting out two new albums, Broken Down, and Side of the Road, and are planning a tour up the East Coast in October.Being a part of many bands, our list of shows is inclusive of all bands...click on specific shows to make sure you know what you're in for!
