Jim Martin, (aka) The Announcer has a professional back ground that includes Public Affairs professional, community advocate, personal growth trainer and a foreign affairs specialist.As a talented Gospel and R&B vocalist, music has always been Jim’s first love where the arts are concerned. His love of Spoken Word is a natural out growth of that.
Jim has Co-hosted the well known Open Mic Spoken Word venue in Oakland for the past six years. It’s called “The Poetic Groveâ€. Jim has performed his works of words and music for churches, community and civic events as well as for colleges and for Inmates in San Francisco County Jails for a number of years.A basic short performance program will consist a couple of fast paste urban situation pieces, a couple of feel good message poems and one or two fun pieces.
