About Me

Deadly - Going On Greazy from OYM Media on Vimeo .

East London has produced a vast amount of musical gems since the turn of the millennium, now it is time for the world to embrace a new star hailing from the ‘Right Side of the Compass’ in the form of Female Lyricist Deadly. Deadly started emceeing at the mere age of 12 after being influenced by her older brother Dynamical who was heavily involved in ‘Grime Sets’ in East London. It did not take long for Deadly to be noticed because even at a young age she possessed lyrical talent that was far beyond her tender age and stereotypically speaking far beyond her gender. Deadly first came to attention when local Grime movement Terra Crew noticed her. The Crew consisted of 10 other member who all happened to boys and they embraced her as a talented Grime emcee. Deadly stayed on her musical grind and eventually left Terra Crew to join M.I.C (Mentally Ill Crew), which was founded by Griminal and consisted of 6 other members. During this point in her career, she was known as the best female emcee in her age bracket but she was not just content with that title. Deadly along with M.I.C began an endless onslaught on pirate radio stations with 8 and 16 bar dubs as well as group tracks and solo tracks. Deadly has always been known for her wizzardous Wordplay and Captivating Content but as well as it being a gift it also grew to haunt her. “Your too Lyrical, You need to dumb down”, “You not Grime enough for the Grime Scene”, these are the words that would often be pierced into Deadly’s ears by musicians and close friends alike. Deadly chose to ignore that criticism and instead let it become the fuel for her to keep striving for perfection and ultimate lyricism. During her later days of M.I.C she started writing to Rap and Hip-hop after coming to the conclusion that it would help her Grow and mature both as a lyrical artist and as a diverse Entity. At the age of 15 Deadly departed from M.I.C on mutual grounds to pursue her career as a Solo artist, or so she thought. She began focusing heavily on her own self-development but just like any talented musician, she was always bound to attract the attention of crews and movements. During the next 2 years, she joined two further movements (Urbz Entertainment and T.U.G) and was featured on Lightning’s ‘Young and Gifted’ Mix CD which featured Ghetto & Chipmunk to name a few. She appreciated the exposure that Both Movements and Lighting’s Mix CD gave her but she finally concluded that she is destined to be a Solo Star and she left both movements in order to pursue a solo career. Deadly Released a free 5 track downloadable Promo entitled ‘Queen Of This Ting’ at the beginning of 2008 which receive a mass amount of street exposure and only further Wetted Deadly’s appetite for success and in her own words ‘Greatness’. She gained a lot of credibility from ‘Queen Of This Ting’, as well as a number of producers, who began hovering around this extremely talent young star. Deadly began examining her own path and how she was going to achieve ‘Greatness’ and decided she was going to release a full length feature showpiece entitled ‘First Place Greatest Kid’. She was already dipping her hand in the Bassline Scene and had been creating musical allies up and down the country and extended her musical gift from her roots in East London to other cities outside of the capital. In the summer of 2008 Deadly left her childhood habitat of East London and moved to the Midlands in order to focus more on her dreams and to see what the world outside of East London has to offer. At the time of her move, she had already completed two thirds of her Mix-CD when she met Wolverhampton Emcee Reload and again she found herself becoming part of a movement, to be precise Gemini Productions. This movement was to be different though, as it only consisted of Her and Reload which meant it was a much more core based movement because as the common phrase says “Two is Company, Three is a crowd” and as Deadly said in her own words “Two Heads are Better than one”. Reload and Deadly began sharing their musical Links and Deadly completed her Mix CD Entitled ‘First Place Greatest Kid’, which is due to be released in the Summer of 2009. The Mix CD is 20 Tracks Strong with Production from the likes of Merlin, BASSic, Ma, Lee Boi and Sneaker to name a few. The Debut Single from the Mix CD is ‘Goin On Greazy’, which is produced by Merlin and has a Video, which can be seen on all over the web aswell as on her own page.Deadly has faced many Critics in her young age, many saying that Emceeing and Rapping should be a strictly male art. The sad fact is that many of the female Emcees who had success before Deadly have all turned their back on the Emceeing Scene and slotted into the typical stereotype of becoming a R&B Singer. All this hardship and discrimination has done nothing but make Deadly a stronger artist and a more determined musician destined for ‘Greatness’. Ladies and Gentlemen please put your hands together for this fierce but elegant Emcee who is on a flammable path to achieve all her goals and make the world embrace her extremely talented persona and razor sharp lyrics. THIS IS DEADLY!!!!!!
