About Me

Rather than clutter my own personal page with a ridiculous amount of musicians, I've created this side-profile as a tribute to my love of music. With the exception of having it linked to my main profile, every other entry on my friends list is a band/musician that I listen to and enjoy. The idea is that my friends (and their friends and friends of their friends and whoever else) can come here when they're bored and poke around to find new music to check out. There'll be the occasional amateur review in my blog when I stumble across something particularly good or disappointing and I'm also planning on having a recommended artist of the month. It's probably pretty lofty thinking, but if I could get a couple hundred people subscribed to my blog, I might even try getting interviews with some of the bands.
If you're a fan of any musicians on MySpace that haven't made it onto my friends list yet, shoot me a message so I can check them out. Also, if you like the idea of what I'm doing with this profile, subscribe to my blog or add me as a public favorite and forward a link to some of your friends. If I do ever get to the point of wanting to try to get some artist involvement, it'd be nice to be able to tell them how many people are checking out my page.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you find some new music to love.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

If your band has a MySpace page and you'd like to be added, send me a request and I'll check out what you have up. I'll only add those whose music I like, but I'll give anyone a listen. Eveyone else, the friends list is reserved for musicians, so please just add me as a favorite instead of sending me a friend request.

The Stills - August 2008 Artist of the Month

Death Cab for Cutie - May 2008 Artist of the Month

Elbow - April 2008 Artist of the Month

I'm a sucker for modern British rock. If forced to name a favorite band, I always go with Doves, and I consistently enjoy music from artists like Coldplay, Embrace, Richard Ashcroft, Editors, Flotatio...

Why? - March 2008 Artist of the Month

Vampire Weekend - February 2008 Artist of the Month

This spot had originally been reserved for Jason Collett, but Here's to Being Here just didn't grab me. I probably would've still picked him, except for having bought the self-titled debut album from ...

Glen Hansard - January 2008 Artist of the Month

One of these days, I'm actually going to write one of these and get it up in a timely fashion. I was actually at a bit of a loss as to who to pick this month. The Magnetic Fields were coming out with ...
