Women Advancing Medical Cannabis

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

WAMC will be chartering transportation to our celebration and rally! Be aware that we are closing reservations at NOON today, Monday, August 13th. The meeting point will be in Silverlake but some of the best collectives in Los Angeles are also organizing transportation from the San Fernando Valley and other points in the city! Please message us if you intend to reserve a seat on our bus or would like further information about transportation options closer to you. Please email [email protected] or shoot a message our way on myspace as soon as you can!Ask your favorite collective if they're coming! We need them, they need us and this mutually beneficial relationship is incredibly fragile and possibly not long for fulfilling your medical needs if the DEA and LAPD continue raids and closures of medical cannabis establishments.Ask why Sarah Pullen of the DEA continues to support this reckless assault on a medicine that is especially beneficial in the treatment of an array of female-specific conditions.I would like to cordially invite all of you to join with Women Advancing Medical Cannabis on Wednesday, August 15th at 9:00am at the Roybal Federal Building located at 255 E. Temple Street, then embarking on a symbolic march to City Hall.LA City Councilmember Janice Hahn of District 15 will be addressing us, in addition to several other dedicated women (and supportive men!) of note who will no longer tolerate the deplorable treatment of compliant collectives and their patients at the hands of the DEA, in addition to the LAPD's questionable and prominent cooperation with the most recent round of DEA raids upon medical cannabis clinics.
We will display our patriotism as citizens dedicated to the will of the people and our empathy for all patients who feel bereft of hope that safe access will remain a reality. We at WAMC are your sisters, mothers, lovers and friends. We need your support more than ever before.
We have flyers available for you to print and distribute at our website and MySpace, and some of your favorite collectives will have them as well. You can view them here, too!
We urge all interested parties to march alongside us - be they in wheelchairs, walkers, canes or in need of someone to lean on while we make our way up to City Hall. How you 'march' is how you feel, and it shows.
WHEN: August 15th
WHERE: 255 E. Temple Street (Edward R. Roybal Federal Building) Downtown Los Angeles
WHY: To demonstrate before our City Council leaders, the city of Los Angeles herself and those unaware of our plight that safe access to medical cannabis is crucial and literally a matter of life or death for many. We see all recent attempts on behalf of the DEA in cooperation with local law enforcement to halt our ability to obtain and dispense medicine safely as an affront to every Los Angeles constituent utilizing medical cannabis responsibly and compliantly.
WHO ARE THESE WOMEN?
We are not Sondheim's Ladies Who Lunch. We have little appreciation for cocktails of Flexeril, Ambien, Oxycodone or Actiq followed by multiple Mimosas. We are concerned patients who are dedicated to the further enrichment of the Medical Cannabis community and survival of safe access for all patients. We are your mothers, sisters, daughters and partners; we seek to merge these traits into the minds of those who know not what a 'patient is'.
We hope to see you there. Spread the word! The more the merrier. Please help us spread word via the media. If you are from the media, please do not hesitate to contact us. p
Thank you!!
