Save Africa Concerts Foundations is a Not-For-Profit organization founded in 2000, and officially launched simultaneously in New York City, USA and in Nigeria, West Africa in 2001. Our primary mission is to join in the cause for the prevention and spread of HIV/AIDS world-wide. Throughout our existence, we have been very steadfast and forceful across continents, spreading the word of abstinence from unsafe and unprotected sex, which is very common amomg teens and young adults, sharing of dirty needles among drug users, and other risky behaviors and lifestyle.We have and will continue to touch lives in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Carribbean and here in the United States. Our efforts thus far have been met with huge successes and some minor setbacks. One major obstacle we have experienced is penetrating the cultural barriers and/or customs of people from all walks of life, particularly African village dwellers who are living with the disease or living among people who are carriers of the HIV/AIDS disease.One sure way we have been able to get around various cultural barriers is through arts and entertainment. SAC highly regards music and artists as major flagships for spreading the message about the deadly impact of HIV/AIDS and how to stay safe.Due to our deligence in this cause, Save Africa Concerts Foundation gained a major status: "Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations" This new status will enable us to cover many, many more boundaries and many more people who need to be educated and tested for HIV/AIDS.We are very much concerned about the spread of and destruction of lives - babies, young children, men, and women - by HIV/AIDS throughout the world. The disease knows no boundaries and has no borders. Join us in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS. This is our life work.
