I am here for Dating and Friends

About Me

I'm originally from London and moved up to Leicester in 2003, a bold move for me as I'd never been one to take chances previously. At this moment in time I have few regrets about taking the action that I did although there was a time when things got a bit out of hand (but that's history now, so no point in beating on about it). Most who meet me, whether in person or in cyberspace, seem to agree that I'm quite a a nice guy who is easy to get on with. I consider myself to be an open, caring, sensitive person who likes to meet new people and exchange views, ideas etc. I've taken the plunge on this myspace malarkey via the Kevin Hewick website. Kevin's a really nice guy too and also (in my unbiased opinion) a very talented musician who cares deeply about his art. I'm a bit music-mad, and like loads of stuff including The National, TV On The Radio, Bon Iver, The Flaming Lips, Joy Division/New Order, Animal Collective, Mercury Rev, Adjagas, Explosions In The Sky, Daniel Johnston, The Sound, Air, M83, Interpol, The Associates, Yeasayer, M Ward, The Chameleons, Scars, Panda Bear, The Arcade Fire, The Young Gods, The Dears, Pulp, Ennio Morricone, Mogwai, AR Kane, Ryan Adams, Johnny Cash, Prodigy, Goldfrapp, Jimi Hendrix, 65 Days Of Static, Scott Walker, Echo & The Bunnymen, Pixies, Beck, Mono, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Roxy Music, Whiskeytown, Joy Zipper, The Kills, Pere Ubu, Stina Nordenstam, Talk Talk, Elliott Smith, The Stooges, Killers, The Specials, Isis, My Bloody Valentine, David Bowie, The Handsome Family, Aphex Twin, Stars of The Lid, Manic Street Preachers, Blonde Redhead, Dusty Springfield, Massive Attack, The Jam, early-Stranglers, Lambchop, Capricorns, Magazine, Yo La Tengo, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Radiohead, Tom McRae, Velvet Underground, Nick Drake, Supergrass and others far too numerous to mention here. I'm also keen on crime fiction with Ian Rankin, Robert Crais, John Connolly, Tess Gerritsen and Michael Connelly being a few of my fave authors. I'm into exercise and keep fit too, having run 3 London marathons, and I also like to cycle. Well, not sure what else I can say here without boring the pants off you all, so I'll leave it here for now! Thanks for taking the time to read this... My Interests

I'd like to meet:

This isn't as easy as it sounds, but I would like to meet David Bowie (my original gateway into music), Stephen Wiltshire (a talented autistic artist, check him out), Alain Robert (AKA "Spiderman"), Al Pacino, Iggy Pop, Jodie Foster, James Brown (RIP), Deborah Curtis (wife of late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis) . . . it's late and my brain isn't in premium recall mode right now, but I will add more as and when I think of them! . . . . . . . Just thought of a few more! Anthony Hopkins, Jack Nicholson, Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips), Audrey Tatou, David Attenborough, Michael J Fox, Lance Armstrong, Dalai Lama, Jean Reno, Jarvis Cocker, Haile Gebrselassie, Bjork, Ryan Adams, Nelson Mandela, and if I could get a hotline to heaven then I'd certainly love to have words with the original maninblack himself, Johnny Cash. Of course, now that the US has a new President, I would like to add Barack Obama to my list.

no cheap thrills or revelations

So 2009 is finally with us and it's the year when I can wire myself up to a lie-detector and say, "next year I'll turn 50" and not register the tiniest little blip on the screen that signifies an unt...

Suffer The Children

Believe me, when you get older your capacity for moaning and rallying against what you perceive as an unjust world doesn't lessen, it grows stronger, at least it does from my own experience of life. ...
