The Urbanite Cowboy

About Me

Layout by CoolChaser David Hayes (a.k.a.The Urbanite Cowboy) is a songwriter & performing artist. He is a native of Panama City, Fl. He has worked for theaters and music venues in Southern California and Northwest Florida. Over the last four years he has participated in four artist residencies (YMCA, Seaside Repertory Theater, Art-Coop, The Real Theater) and made real efforts to help strengthen communities along Florida's hurricane tattered Gulf Coast by organizing numerous cultural events, such as, Verse Vice, Acoustic Roots, and Metro Melancholy among others.
The Urbanite Cowboys' music is crafted out of poetic verse that speaks to the disenfranchised and resonates in both major and minor scales. Hear it for yourself and enjoy!

" David Hayes is a multi-talented artist. He's an actor, musician, poet, writer, and probably involved in most any other art form you can think of.
-Lou Columbus
(see: www.discover-panama-city-fl.com )
" David Hayes is, among other things, an actor. Before a recent Friday lunch hour, he read up for his lines as Brick on opening night of Martin Ensemble Theatre's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Hayes also is a musician and self-described social entrepreneur."
-David Vest
(see: www.newsherald.com )
" David Hayes could be considered somewhat of a Renaissance Man. His interests in the arts and learning are exhibited by a wide range of talents, from strumming the guitar to live theatre and drawing comics."
-John McDonald
(see: www.newsherald.com )
.... “ David Hayes seems to morph with his character throughout the performance. The man at the end of the play stands more confident. The constant change of outfits between scenes is impressive”.

"Spoken word can be powerful when feelings behind it are genuine. That was the case at Verse Vice particularly the efforts from David Hayes . Raw emotion is the best way to describe it."
