Sanctified Sin is an American neo-classical, semi-progressive, high voltage, metal band that was formed in Spokane, Washington in 2006. The band members include: John Goodman (vox/guitar), Dan Goodman (guitar/vox), Alex Beyer (drums/vox), and Aaron Goff (bass)
John and Dan have extensive training in guitar, vocals, and music theory, and are also part of a nation-wide organization known as National Guitar Workshop (NGW), and have been dedicated players for 7 years. They have traveled from Seattle, to L.A., and Connecticut as both students and teachers to help other students truly appreciate the guitar and music as a craft.
Alex is a self-taught drummer who thrives off of double-bass, metal of all genres, syncopated madness, and a healthy dose of faith in a higher power. He is extensively trained in rhythm and time signatures, and turns the metaphor of ‘unleashing the demon’ into a literary translation when placed behind a drum kit.
Aaron, like Alex, is a self-taught player who is not only versatile on bass, but on the guitar as well. He was the former guitar player of Spokane’s local ‘Catacomb’, and the main writing virtuoso of the former band. Aaron’s training includes 4 years of advanced jazz, 3 years of steel drums, and 8 years of dedication as a player.
That brings us to right now.
We are a serious band with an appreciation of musical influences. We are a blend of twin-lead, theory-based writers/soloist guitarists, a drummer with a vast appreciation of metal of all forms, and a bass player of great versatility and writing skills. Call it progressive. Call it neo-classical. We call it metal.
