CONTEMPT - a french film by Jean-Luc Godard, who is one of my favourite French New Wave directors, and starring Brigitte Bardot****FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF can always be watched, rain or shine - and y'all know how much I HATE watching movies when it's sunny outside! ****AMERICAN HISTORY X because it kills me everytime.****Baz Luhrmann's ROMEO & JULIET because I am in love with Claire Danes (even though she stole Billy Crudup away from Mary Louise Parker when she was pregnant with their child!)****CRUEL INTENTIONS because I am also in love with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillipe could sex me up on a bet anytime.****FEAR for the roller coaster scene. You girls know what I'm talking about.****CLOSER for making all non-theater goers lament that they had to actually listen to the dialogue and not just watch the screen. And for having Jude Law and the only character that made Julia Roberts visible to me as her character instead of as Julia Roberts in a new costume.****STAGE BEAUTY because it was just as good as the stage version and it brings up issues I have tackled in so many papers that I have continuously loved writing. On a side note, this was the film which brought Claire Danes and Billy Crudup into contact with each other, and began her downward spiral into homewrecker. And yes people, Billy Crudup is an American.***DIRTY DANCING because of watching it whilst eating cookie dough once every two months with my girls...and because Patrick Swayze was one of my first celebrity crushes thanks to the flick...and because of Jerry Orbach (upon whose death, Broadway went dark)...and because of Kelly Bishop (who was in the original cast of "A Chorus Line")...and because when Baby says "Dance with me Johnny," he's already in love.
